Baron (born Piers Baron Bailey on October 29 1979) is a UK born Los Angeles based Record Producer, Mixer, Songwriter and DJ who has been releasing records since 2002. He shot to recognition in 2003 after remixing Total Science's Drum and Bass track Nosher, the track became a classic and he became a sought after Remixer, Producer and DJ in the Drum and Bass genre.
In 2004 he joined forces with Adam F & DJ Fresh's Drum & Bass Label Breakbeat Kaos, as well as that he has his own label "Baron Inc". Known for his out and out dancefloor tracks, in 2005 he released "At the Drive In", a deeper and more powerful track than his previous work, which would set the tone for his forthcoming productions. His Drum & Bass records are a regular feature on the BBC Radio 1 show's of Annie Mac and Zane Lowe.
He spent 2006/7/8/9 working with Flip Skateboards creating an original (non Drum and Bass) soundtrack for their forthcoming DVD Extremely Sorry which is due to be released in Fall 2009
In 2008 he worked with UK artist Trip on a yet to be released song called "Break the Jukebox"
In June 2009 Fuel TV aired the 2008 Southwest Flip Skateboards tour documentary starring, Geoff Rowley, Mark Appleyard, David Gonzalez, Louie Lopez, Rune Glifberg, Luan Oliviera, Curren Caples and Lance Mountain this featured an original nine track soundtrack, produced by Baron.
On August 26th 2009 after a rumored 4 years in the making, FLIP released a third Extremely Sorry web trailer, officially announcing that Baron had made an original soundtrack for their forthcoming skate film. The trailer featured FLIP pro skateboarders Geoff Rowley, David Gonzalez, Lance Mountain and Mark Appleyard. The Soundtrack will be released on digital and physical format by Volcom Entertainment and will feature a host of yet to be announced guest stars. The press release that accompanied the Trailer caused a huge Internet stir, registering itself as one of the top music stories for that week.
Release details for the Flip Skateboards Extremely Sorry Soundtrack surfaced in late September 2009, to be released on USA based label Volcom Entertainment the Soundtrack features Baron collaborating with a wide range of musical artists including Lemmy of Motorhead, Dave Lombardo of Slayer, Jim Lindberg of Pennywise, Stephen Mcbean of Black Mountain, Warren G, Snoop Dogg, Mike Conte of Early Man, Mack Winston and ((sounder))
Baron has talked frequently in interviews about his involvement in the forthcoming Activision computer game DJ Hero, on which he served as a music supervisor.

In November 2006, he scored a number 1 on the UK Dance Chart with his track "Drive In, Drive By", he had also debuted at number 1 previous to this with his collaboration with Pendulum. He has had 6 Top 3 and 7 Top 10 Hits in the UK Dance Chart.
