BACKGROUND PERSONALITY: Though he looks all big and tough on the outside, within Barret lies a heart of gold. He's been known to get a little excited at times (even exclaiming the occasional dirty word here and there), but his cause is just and he's truly out to save the world.ORIGIN: Once a peaceful and happy miner in Corel Village, Barret was a husband and a father who could not have been happier with his life. Then Shinra moved in with its giant Mako reactors, draining the land of all its resources and energy. With nothing left to mine as Shinra forces presided over the town, Corel Village fell apart. Barret was among the people who fell to the pressures of Shinra and allowed them to create the nearby reactor. The people of his village hated him deeply for this, and he felt that he let them down. Unable to stand it anymore, Barret fled to Midgar, taking his daughter with him. He joined AVALANCHE so that he could right the wrongs that he felt he caused his hometown, and -- most of all -- to make the world a better place for his daughter to live in.
