Barry Weeks, (born in Alexandria, Virginia on December 12, 1961) is a record producer and song writer for Universal Music Group.
Weeks grew up in Northern Virginia and later moved to Roanoke, Virginia where he met his wife, Robin. He owned and operated Duke Recording Studio in Vinton, Virginia for 10 years.
In 1996, he produced a record for the Grammy award-winning group, The Imperials. Shortly afterward, he joined the group as the lead singer. He later started a vocal trio called "New Spirit", featuring David Will, formerly of The Imperials, and Ben Jacklin.
In 2001, he went to work for Brentwood-Benson Music as the in-house producer/engineer. In 2004, he signed as a staff writer for Brentwood-Benson Music Publishing. He has produced several major label artists, including the Booth Brothers record, "The Blind Man Saw It All", which won 9 awards and had one #1 song. He has also produced vocals for many Contemporary Christian artists such as, Stellar Kart, (Word Records), Krystal Meyers (Provident Music Group) and has had songs recorded by many artists including, Avalon, Natalie Grant, Brian Littrell, Jump 5, PureNRG, The Booth Brothers, The Talleys and Brian Free & Assurance, The Imperials, and others.
He was nominated for a Dove Award in 2008 and 2009 for Southern Gospel Album of the Year and is an Inductee in the GMA Hall of Fame.
He and his wife now reside in the Nashville, Tennessee area.
He has a song recorded by Latin Boy band "MDO" a spin off of the award winning group known as "Menudo". Which was where Ricky Martin originally got his start in music.
He was nominated for a Grammy Award in 2008 for Producing the " Room for More " record by the Booth Brothers. Category 55, Best Southern, Country, or Bluegrass Gospel album.
