Bartlett–Lewis model
A model used for describing clusters of events in time or space. The idea is that clusters of events are initiated at random points in space or time (according to a Poisson process). Each of these events then results in a number of sub-events that are distributed in space or time according to some specified distribution. Initially used as a model to describe the incidence of failures in a production process, these models are now popular for describing the spatial occurrence of rainfall.
