(b Florence, 24 Dec 1474; d there, 12 Dec 1539). Italian composer, organist and singer. Having been a singer at the Ss Annunziata, Florence, and in the baptistry's chapel, he served Lorenzo de′ Medici, Duke of Urbino, and was organist at Florentine churches, becoming principal organist of the cathedral in 1509. His extant compositions include ten Italian secular works (mainly ballatas), a lauda and four instrumental pieces.
