The Barwa Al Baraha is built by Qatari contracting agency Barwa. It will cost around $1.1 billion and will be a completely integrated city in the industrial area in Doha. Phase one of the project (truck park) was set to be completed at the end of 2008, and the project itself was initially set to be completed by the middle of 2010.[2]
The Project is now complete.[citation needed]
Able to contain 4,200 trucks, the Barwa Al Baraha truck park is the largest in the world, with advanced security equipment.[3]
Along with 4.25 square meters of living space per person, the residential project will provide parks, recreational areas, malls, and shops for labourers. It is set to host up to 50,000 labourers on 1.8 square kilometres.[4] There will be 64 four floors buildings, each having around 130 rooms able to host up to 6 labourers.[4]
Phase 2 construction is complete.[citation needed]
