Review

This album of surf instrumentals features two of the original members of the Surfaris (Jim Fuller and Jim Pash), the band whose two-sided single "Surfer Joe/Wipe Out" helped jump-start the surf craze in the mid-'60s. Missing is Ron Wilson, who died in 1989. Wilson was the band's singer and also the drummer, and an amazing drummer he was, the clear prototype for Keith Moon. Without him, the Surfaris seem to lack heart and soul, and this set feels fairly generic. ~ Steve Leggett, All Music Guide
