Batdorj-in Baasanjav (Mongolian: Батдоржын Баасанжав; born 1954), also known as Basenzhabu (Chinese: 巴森扎布; pinyin: Bāsēnzhābù) or simply Ba Sen (Chinese: 巴森; pinyin: Bā Sēn) in Chinese, is a Mongol actor who is best known for his role as Genghis Khan in the 2004 television series Genghis Khan. Interestingly, he himself is a descendent of Genghis Khan.

Career
At the age of 13 Baasan started learning dancing in the Inner Mongolian Arts School (內蒙古藝術學院). After graduating he became a dancer in a group in the Chinese military. Since 1984, he has been working as an actor in the Inner Mongolian Film Agency. His first role was Herder Suhee in the drama Huan Jinhai.[1] He played the titular role in the 2004 television series Genghis Khan and became popular among Mongols.
Personal life
Baasan married Saran Gua, a singer from the Inner Mongolian Opera and Dance Theatre.
