Game Description

Gotham City's most feared criminals have escaped from both Arkham Asylum and Blackgate Prison in Batman: Chaos in Gotham. Alternating between the Caped Crusader and Batgirl, players must round up Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, The Penguin, The Joker, Bane, and Roxy Rocket before battling the secret mastermind behind this baffling breakout. A total of 18 levels are available, with progress resumed via passwords.

The game is divided into a series of vehicle stages and side-scrolling platform levels. As Batman, players can perform a series of punches and kicks to wear down foes, or use such devices in his Utility Belt as batarangs, stun bombs, and a grappling hook to reach rooftops. Vehicles include the Batcycle, Batmobile, Jet Wing, and Batboat, which are used for shooting missions as well as races where the goal is to avoid enemy contact.
