One year since Eiji's climactic but unfinished battle with Gaia during the first Battle Arena Toshinden tournament, the original eight participants of the tournament as well as other fighters find themselves targeted by a mysterious organization for sinister purposes, and it becomes up to Eiji to solve the mystery, save his friends, stop the organization and locate his long-lost brother, Sho.
Vermilion makes a brief cameo at the anime's end, preparing to engage Eiji in battle.
In the North America market, Central Park Media released the anime on VHS in two versions: an uncut version and a PG-13 version, with the latter omitting the nudity and graphic content of the former. The Region 1 DVD releases are of the uncut version only.
