The Battle of Arachova occurred between November 18 and November 24, 1826 between forces under the command of Mustafa Bey and Greek irregulars under Georgios Karaiskakis. After leaving the camp at Athens, Karaiskakis moved his army to Rumeli, with the intention of cutting off Ottoman supply lines. On November 18 he encountered an Ottoman army of Mustafa Bey, which was ultimately defeated. The Ottomans were driven from Arachova and suffered considerable casualties in the process, numbering around at 2,000, close to the entire Ottoman combatant figure.
