At the beginning of the century, German immigrants brought their Bavarian folk sounds to Brazil where they blended them with the local samba rhythms. A century later, BavaRio brought the sound back to Europe to offer of an eclectic fusion of mountain and Latin dance music. Munich-based BavaRio mix not only sounds, but also instruments. Their repertoire includes not only accordion, dulcimer, and tuba, but also the Brazilian cavaquihno and viola capiro. Their music is well-represented on their eponymous first album. ~ Leon Jackson, Rovi
