Metal devices that reduce the pressure on printing surfaces. One type uses flat surfaces or rings at the end of printing press cylinders to determine the thickness of the packing that applies pressure on the printing surface. Another type consists of metal scraps left around an engraved printing plate to reduce wear on the plate when additional plates are molded from it.
