Beauty and the Beast

1. Ballet in one act with choreography by Cranko, music by Ravel, and designs by Margaret Kaye. Premiered 20 Dec. 1949, by Sadler's Wells Theatre Ballet, Sadler's Wells Theatre, London, with David Poole and Patricia Miller. A dance version of the fairy-tale; filmed for BBC Television in 1953.

2. Full-length ballet by Peter Darrell for Scottish Theatre Ballet, with libretto by Colin Graham, music by Thea Musgrave, and designs by Peter Minshall. Premiered 19 Nov. 1969 at Sadler's Wells Theatre, London.
