Biography

Beber & Tamra are a vocal-driven breaks duo from England who scored a major club hit with their 2001 debut single, "Travelling On." The duo is comprised of producer Kevin Beber and vocalist Tamra Keenan, the former of whom had been an active participant in the nu-breaks movement of the '90s, most notably collaborating with Adam Freeland as Tsunami One and co-producing a couple standout tracks ("Madskillz-Mic Chekka," "The Hip Hop Phenomenon") on BT's album Movement in Still Life (1999). Upon teaming up for their debut single, "Travelling On," Beber & Tamra released a follow-up single, "You Wonder," and released their debut full-length album, Suite Beat Boy (2002), on Mob Records. Amid the success of "Travelling On" and the popularity of Suite Beat Boy, the duo performed at the Glastonbury Festival in 2002. They then put their partnership on hold for a half-decade as they pursued their solo careers. Beber & Tamra eventually returned in 2008 with their second full-length album, Killa Rockin Bird, and a return performance at the Glastonbury Festival. ~ Jason Birchmeier, All Music Guide
