Beit She'arim National Park
Beit She'arim (Hebrew: בית שערים) is the archeological site of a town and a necropolis in the southern foothills of the Lower Galilee. Most of the remains date from the 2nd to 4th century CE. The inscriptions in the catacombs reveal that the necropolis was of Jewish importance.
The site was discovered by accident in 1936 by the Jewish watchman Alexander Zeid, who was guarding the lands of the Jewish National Fund.
