Biography

Bellafea hail from Wilmington, NC, where bandmates Nathan Buchanan (drums), Heather McEntire (guitar, vocals), and Eddie Sanchez (bass) began combining post-punk songcraft, ambient passages, and noisy guitar distortion in the early 2000s. The Raleigh-based Pidgeon English Records issued Bellafea's Family Tree EP in 2005, and the co-ed band spent the following months in a Subaru Outback, touring the country and playing shows for growing audiences. Upon returning to North Carolina, Bellafea relocated to the college town of Chapel Hill and set to work on their full-length debut, Calvacade, which arrived in 2008 on Southern Records. ~ Andrew Leahey, All Music Guide
