)Belmont Lake State Park is located in Babylon (town), New York on Long Island in Suffolk County, New York. The park has boating and picnicking facilities and playing fields for popular sports. It is convenient to the Southern State Parkway at Exit 38 as well as Exit 37N to Belmont Avenue.
The park served as the headquarters of the Long Island State Park Commission and Long Island State Parkway Police from their founding in 1946 until their disbandment in 1977 and 1980, respectively. It now serves as the headquarters of the Long Island region of New York State Parks, as well as the New York State Park Police. Robert Moses lived here, in August Belmont, Jr.'s old mansion, from the late 1920s to the end of his life.
The park manager is Timothy Byrne, the assistant park manager is being placed in early September, 2011, and the office manager is Lynn M. Liotta.
