Belogorsky District (Russian: Белого́рский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[2] district (raion), one of the twenty in Amur Oblast, Russia. The area of the district is 2,600 square kilometers (1,000 sq mi).[citation needed] Its administrative center is the town of Belogorsk[2] (which is not administratively a part of the district).[1] Population: 20,056 (2010 Census preliminary results);[3] 23,848 (2002 Census);[7] 28,648 (1989 Census).[8]
The town of Belogorsk serves as the administrative center of the district,[2] although is not administratively a part of it.[1] Administratively, is incorporated separately as an urban okrug.[1] Municipally, Belogorsk is also separate from the district and is incorporated as Belogorsk Urban Okrug.[9]
