Biography

Benjamin Mouton credits his high school teacher Novalyne Price Ellis for inspiring him to become a professional actor. Years after graduation, he would appear in a movie based upon her memoirs of her relationship with fantasy writer Robert E. Howard, The Whole Wide World (1996). After high school, he studied at New York City's American Academy of Dramatic Arts. In 1984, he received the school's coveted Jehlinger award. Shortly after graduation, Mouton heeded the advice of mentors and moved to Los Angeles in hopes of building a film career. He made his feature film debut starring opposite Jennifer Jason Leigh and Eric Stoltz in Sister, Sister (1987). In addition to his film work, Mouton occasionally appears on television, making guest appearances on shows such as L.A. Law and E.R. ~ Sandra Brennan, All Movie Guide
