Benserade

Benserade or Isaac de Bensserade (1613-91). French poet and dramatist. In a long literary career he wrote witty verse, at least five plays, and a number of often satirical libretti for court ballets, composed in association with Lully in the 1660s. Elected to the Académie Française in 1674, he became an outspoken moderne in the Querelle.
