Fabricated eponymous ancestor of the Scotiae [i.e. Irish] and Scots, according to the Lebor Gabála [Book of Invasions]. In his quasi-biblical lineage, he is the son of Esru, son of Goídel, son of Scota, who was a daughter of Pharaoh Nectanabes of Egypt.
