The Early Chapters of Revelation reedition cover

Beyond Sanctorum is the second full-length album by Swedish band Therion. It is arguably the bands last album that could be said to fit purely within the death metal style, after which they began progressively including classical and other elements to their sound. Even this album shows some deviation from "standard" death metal, due to the use of classical vocals, keyboards, and some elements like Persian scales. At the time of release these were seen as quite progressive within the genre, which was very restrictive (particularly in Scandinavia). It was released on the Music For Nations label in 1992.
