"Bhandari" is a last name found in the Brahmin and Chhetri caste of Nepal,and in
India amongst the Rajput caste of Uttrakhand and the Jains of Rajastan. It
is also a common surname amongst the Sikh and Hindu Khatris of Punjab.

Bhandari history is 1008 years old. they were originally Rajputs, warriors and descendants of great ruler and King Prithvi Raj Chouhan. Many later converted to Jainism, the remainder stayed Hindu.
There are different groups of Bhandari that are not related and have different origins: the Bhandari of Konkan area (part compromising south-west coast of Maharashtra, entire Goa and north-west coastal belt of Karnataka, India); the Bhandaris of Northeast Mahrashtra, south of Karnataka; and the Bhandaris of Jainism.
