[be-YAHN-koh dee koos-TOH-tzah] doc that makes a dry white wine from a blend of trebbiano, garganega, tocai, cortese, malvasia and Riesling Italico (welschriesling). These wines, once thought to be a cheaper, lesser-quality alternative to those from the soave doc have established themselves as high-quality contenders (except against the better soave superiore docg wines). Bianco di Custoza is located on the southeastern shore of Lake Garda in the eastern portion of Italy's veneto region (in the same area as the bardolino doc).
