Big-endian may refer to:

  • Endianness, the byte ordering in memory used to represent some kind of data in computing. For example, the ordering of a 4-byte word would be bytes 0, 1, 2, 3.
  • One of two competing philosophical viewpoints among the people of Lilliput from the book Gulliver's Travels by Jonathan Swift. According to this viewpoint, eggs should be broken at the larger end. It is held by a relatively small group of dissidents, many of whose leaders are in exile in neighboring Blefuscu.
