Plot

Among other topics, Bill Bryson explores the British views of societal classes in this third segment of his series Notes From A Small Island. He also visits such oddities as the world's oldest electric clock. The northern mainland towns of Thurso and Dunnet Head are shown, as well the area surrounding the Sellafield nuclear power plant. Lighter moments include shopping with a rich young woman and recalling how grand it was when Bryson still lived in England to just choose a beautiful destination, go there and do nothing for many happy vacation days. Viewers are also treated to footage concerning the Queen's birthday and a "Young Model of the Year Competition." ~ Elizabeth Smith, All Movie Guide
