Biography

This organist was part of the enlarged recording crew for an album entitled Alien, released in 1973 by the bizarre ESP label. Although originally a solo project by Jim McCarthy, the album has been reissued under the name of McCarthy's former band, the Godz. Organist Bill Johnson does not appear to be related to several other keyboardists of the same name who appear on blues and R&B records. His fellow musicians on Alien included several members of the pop band the Left Banke. ~ Eugene Chadbourne, All Music Guide
