Biography

A Memphis-based trumpeter and contemporary of such players as James Williams, Mulgrew Miller and Donald Brown, Mobley's reputation and profile aren't as large as his contemporaries'. But he's a strong, often stirring lead trumpeter, with excellent range. He can be heard on Bill Easley's First Call album, issued in 1991. ~ Ron Wynn, All Music Guide
