Facilities

Frank Bond Centre named after its benefactor, who was a local builder by the name of Frank Bond. He was a private man, but he did have two hobbies: collecting theatre organs and around his garden he had numerous aviaries all housing exotic birds. He opened his garden once a year to the general public and all money that was raised went to charity. On his death he left his house and garden (now the Centre) and land to the community. The land was used for development - some for housing and some land was provided for the St Margaret's Hospice to be built.

The Centre was established in 1983, after alterations to provide accommodation for resident Caretakers upstairs and to open up the ground floor area for activities. There is a main room, with a hatch to kitchen and an opening into the conservatory. In addition there is a smaller separate room. A lavatory and office block was also added.
