Blacksands Petroleum, Inc. was incorporated in the State of Nevada on October 12, 2004 as Lam Liang Corp. The Company was formed to design, produce and sell fashionable computer laptop cases for women through a subsidiary, which was dissolved on June 5, 2006. The Company's operations were limited to general administrative operations and development of its first product line and the Company was considered an exploration stage company. The Company currently operates in only one segment - unconventional oil and gas exploration. To indicate its new direction into the unconventional oil industry, the Company filed a Certificate of Amendment to its Articles of Incorporation on June 9, 2006 to change its name from ‘Lam Liang Corp.' to ‘Blacksands Petroleum, Inc.' The petroleum industry is competitive. Many of the oil and gas exploration companies with whom the Company competes have financial and technical resources than its do. The oil and gas industry, including the oil sands industry, is heavily regulated. The Company proposed business would be affected by numerous laws and regulations, including energy, conservation, tax and other laws and regulations relating to the energy industry.
