Blastobasidae is a family of moths with species found in all parts of the world. These are generally small, slender moths with muted colours (Edward Meyrick described the group as "obscure and dull coloured moths, decidedly the least attractive family of Lepidoptera"). The larvae feed openly, usually on dead organic matter. Some species are pests of stored foodstuffs.
