Software that is so overloaded with functionality that its performance suffers. At the very least, it takes a long time to load the program. Software vendors have the perception that more is always better, or at least more marketable. See software bloat.

[common] Software that provides minimal functionality while requiring a disproportionate amount of diskspace and memory. Especially used for application and OS upgrades. This term is very common in the Windows/NT world. So is its cause.
