  • Active: '60s
  • Genres: Rock

Biography

Bob Durand, though not a member of the Beau Brummels, co-wrote a number of Beau Brummels tunes with that group's principal songwriter and guitarist, Ron Elliott. These included some notable ones, such as their hit "Just a Little" and several of the songs on their 1967 album Triangle. Elliott and Durand were high school friends, and although Elliott often wrote alone (and sometimes with other partners, such as Beau Brummels singer Sal Valentino), Durand helped Elliott with lyrics on the songs on which they worked together. Two Elliott/Durand compositions that the Beau Brummels never released were issued by the obscure San Francisco group the Styx on the 1967 single "Hey, I'm Lost"/"Puppetmaster." ~ Richie Unterberger, All Music Guide
