1996The Marginalization of Poetry: Language Writings and Literary History. Perelman supplies a history of the language poets, a group of loosely allied experimental writers of the late 1970s and the 1980s, such as Charles Bernstein, Lyn Hejinian, Leslie Scalapino, Ron Silliman, and Perelman himself, who set out to disrupt syntax, argument, and narrative in poetry.
