Dutch rock outfit Bonne Apart formed in 2006. Members Gerrit van der Scheer (vocals and guitar), Simon van der Heide (drums), Keimpe Koldijk (guitar and bass), Michiel Klein (guitar), Johan Kool (drums), and Jorrit Berends (keyboards) were influenced by such prominent alternative and underground names as Shellac, Captain Beefheart, Sonic Youth, and Millionaire. Their live shows were frenetic, loud, Wall of Sound affairs that only helped to build the band's reputation as they readied their debut album -- Bonne Apart -- for release. The ten-track release hit the streets in 2008, and was followed by tours of Russia, the Netherlands, and the United States. ~ Chris True, All Music Guide
