Clyde already had a background in crime, cracking safes, robbing stores and stealing cars, before he met Bonnie. He was in prison for two years, where he experienced considerable abuse, and some believe that his aim was not to gain fame and fortune from robbing banks, but to seek revenge against the Texas Prison system for what he suffered in jail. However, the public turned against him when when his gang began murdering both innocent civilians and lawmen. Bonnie and Clyde were ambushed and killed on 23 May 1934, on a deserted road near their hideout in Bienville Parish, Louisiana. (MORE)
