Boothstown is a small town on the boundary between the metropolitan districts of Salford and Wigan, in Greater Manchester, England.
Once known for its mining community, Boothstown is now a mainly residential area. It lies 6.8 miles (10.9 km) northwest of Salford, 9.8 miles (15.8 km) northwest of Manchester and 10 miles (16.1 km) southeast of Wigan.
In the local area: to the west is Astley, to the north is Walkden, to the east is Worsley with an important transport interchange between the M60, M62 & M602 motorways.
To the north of Boothstown is the East Lancashire Road (A580), which links Manchester to Liverpool.
There is currently a proposal being made about the possibility of having a racecourse built at the south of Boothstown running through to Worsley.
