[bohr-DOH] A term used for blended wines made with two or more of the traditional bordeaux grape varieties. The Bordeaux red grapes are cabernet franc cabernet sauvignon Carmenere, Gros Verdot, malbec, merlot, petit verdot and St. Macaire; white grapes are sauvignon blanc (Sauvignon Musque), muscadelle (Sauvignon Vert), and sémillon. In the United States, such blends are referred to as meritage wines, providing they meet certain requirements.
