boron thermopile

(′bö′rän ′thər·mə′pīl)

(nucleonics) A thermopile in which alternate thermocouple junctions are coated with boron; exposure to a flux of slow neutrons generates heat in these junctions, producing an output voltage proportional to neutron flux.
