Breganze DOC

 

[breh-GAHN-zeh] Located in the veneto region in northeast Italy, this doc zone is north of Vicenza and encompasses the vineyards around the village of Breganze. This DOC produces five varietal wines-Cabernet (made with cabernet franc and cabernet sauvignon), Pinot Bianco (pinot blanc), Pinot Grigio (pinot gris), Pinot Nero (pinot noir), and Vespaiolo. Breganze DOC also produces blended red and white wines. The bianco combines Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio, Riesling Italico (welschriesling), Sauvignon (sauvignon blanc), tocai and Vespaiolo. The rosso is made with Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Gropello, merlot Marzemino, and Pinot Nero.
