Brett Gregory Hayes (born February 13, 1984 in Pasadena, California) is a professional baseball catcher for the Florida Marlins.

Personal
Brett Hayes is the son of Tim Hayes Jr., and the grandson Tim Hayes Sr., both professional baseball players. Tim Hayes, Jr. was drafted by the Kansas City Royals, but never appeared professionally. Tim Hayes, Sr. played professionally for the Cleveland Indians. He also attended Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks and was a 3-year Varsity Starter.
College
Hayes attended college at the University of Reno Nevada. WAC freshman of the year, and freshman All-American in college, only missing one game in three years as the Wolfpack's catcher.
Minor League
Hayes played 91 games in 2007, splitting time between Jupiter and Carolina.
Major Leagues
Hayes was called up to the Florida Marlins on May 22, 2009. He hit his first major league home run off of the Washington National's Victor Garate on September 5th, 2009.
