A young couple meet and engage in a brief but passionate love affair. The boy is unsure of his future, while the girl knows she must leave the home of her brutal and abusive step-father. After they part company, the boy is panic-stricken over his estrangement from the girl. He conducts a desperate search for her, eventually finding her talking to a soldier.
