Brian "Vegas" Anthony Thornton (born October 19 1979, in Colorado Springs, Colorado) is a United States technology business entrepreneur, author and noted humanitarian. Mr. Thornton is involved with organizations based in Las Vegas and in the technology industry. Mr Thornton was one of six founders of former "darling" global internet property, DoubleClick. Thornton is currently developing campus technology for the National Association of Heavy Equipment Training Schools in Irvine, CA, San Bernardino, CA, Atlanta, Georgia, Oklahoma City, OK and Las Vegas, NV.

Thornton is currently completing his second publication for US-based technology publishing group O'Reily Media Publishing.

Education/Professional/Technology life

Thornton grew up in Las Vegas, NV and obtained a high school degree from Trinity Christian School also in Las Vegas.

While in high school, Thornton co-created OptInEmail.com, an email service provider which was acquired in 2000 after moving the company to Boulder, Colorado. OptInEmail was notable for creating the first Post Click Tracking (PCT) system available for business.

Thornton formally briefly attended CCSN in Nevada, UNLV in Nevada and is a MBA candidate Colorado Boulder Leeds School of Business.

In 2003 Thornton assisted MIT startups Akamai and TraderWeb through business and technology development.

Humanitarian Activities

In January 2005 after the southern Asian tsunami struck Sri Lanka, Thornton traveled to Sri Lanka and spent 4 months assisting with the relief efforts along with a loosely gathered group he led, Sri Lanka Outreach. Among the groups work, orphanages and small villages, and churches were proided physical, non physical and developmental assistance. He returned to the US to address family issues.

Thornton is director of volunteers for the non-profits B.C. McGabe Boys and Girls Club and Las Vegas Rescue Mission.
