Wikipedia:

Brianna LaHara

Brianna LaHara (born 1991) is a girl from New York who was sued by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) on September 8, 2003 for allegedly distributing music via the Internet which led to massive public outcry against the RIAA. Amidst bad publicity, the RIAA agreed to settle for $2,000.

The P2P trade group P2P United agreed to reimburse Brianna and her mother.[1]

Grokster CEO Wayne Rosso and lifestyle website Hypothermia.us also offered to help Brianna by paying her settlement[2] while online music retailer MusicRebellion.com gave Brianna $2,000 of free music downloads.[3]
