Biography
Following the path of early punk rock bands such as Cock Sparrer and the Clash, Los Angeles' the Briggs consist of brothers Joey and Jason LaRocca, drummer Chris X, and bassist Ryan Roberts (who replaced original bassist Duck Matthews). Originally named I Decline, the group was forced to change the name due to it being used by another band. The Briggs' first album, the independently released Is This What You Believe?, surfaced in 2001, followed in 2003 by Numbers, produced by Duane Peters of U.S. Bombs and issued on his own Disaster label. After finding a home with SideOneDummy, another EP preceded Back to Higher Ground, released in September 2006. The Briggs are a punk rock band based out of Los Angeles, California. The Band Formed in 2001 by brothers Joey and Jason LaRocca and Chris "X" Arredondo. Since the band started touring in 2002, they have shared the stage with many of the biggest bands in punk rock, such as Dropkick Murphys, Bad Religion and Flogging Molly. They have also been involved with The Vans Warped Tour in 2002, 2004, 2007, and 2008. The Briggs released their fourth full length titled Come All You Madmen on SideOneDummy Records on June 17, 2008. Their song This is LA is played as part of the introduction for the Los Angeles Kings at all of their home games.
