Briony Penn, Ph.D. is a Canadian environmental activist, adjunct professor of environmental studies at the University of Victoria, and a founder of The Land Conservancy (TLC). In March 2007, she aroused controversy when she defected from the Green Party and announced her intention to run as the Liberal candidate in Saanich—Gulf Islands in the next federal election [1].
