The British American Security Information Council, also known as "BASIC", is a think tank based in London and Washington, D.C.. It deals with global security issues, such as nuclear policies, armament and disarmament. More recently BASIC has moved back to a focus making the links between on nuclear non-proliferation and disarmament, specifically on promoting the vision and the steps necessary to achieve a nuclear weapon free world. It also has a particular interest in Iran's nuclear programme and in counter-terrorism. Its Board has members from both sides of the Atlantic - former Ambassadors, analysts and academics with an interest in arms control and disarmament. Its Executive Director is Paul Ingram.
