Bromham is a medium-sized village and civil parish in the English county of Wiltshire. Besides the main village of Bromham, there are five other settlements in the parish. These are St Edith’s Marsh, Westbrook, Hawkstreet, Netherstreet and Chittoe. These are essentially sub-villages and hamlets all within 2.5 miles (4 km) of the main village centre, thus 'greater Bromham' is geographically very extensive. The village is situated 4 miles (6.5 km) northwest of Devizes and 4 miles east of Melksham.
Bromham and its civil parish all are within the postal code SN15, and are served by the Devizes telephone area code 01380 with the village having either 859/850 as the first 3 digits of the telephone number.

Amenities
Bromham has a small convenience shop open every day of the week from early till late, a family run butcher’s served from an abattoir in Westbrook and a post office, which is open Monday to Friday, except Wednesday afternoon. [1]
Education
St. Nicholas CofE school is the only primary school within the village; it has four classes, with approximately 90 students from the ages 4–11 years. Bromham falls into the catchment area of The John Bentley School in the nearby town of Calne. Two buses take the students from Bromham to and from John Bentley via either Heddington/Stockley or the more direct route via Mile Elm. [1]

Events
Carnival
The Bromham Carnival takes place every June for two weeks, it consists of village wide events, opening with the choosing of the carnival Queen, Butterfly Princess, Princess and Prince. The events then continue including quizzes, bingo, treasure hunts and much more. On the final Saturday of the two weeks the carnival procession is held, commencing usually at 2pm from The Pound playing field and winding its way through the village to the Social Centre playing field where activities and shows take place throughout the afternoon. In July 2007, HRH The Prince of Wales and HRH The Duchess of Cornwall visited the village on an official visit.
Local government
Bromham is a civil parish with an elected parish council and also falls within the area of the new Wiltshire Council. Both councils are responsible for different aspects of local government.
In the 2002 census, the parish had a population of 1,807.

Recreational Facilities
Within Bromham there are two playing fields, The Pound playing field and the Social Centre's Jubilee and Millennium Fields. The Pound Playing field houses the village tennis court, a grassed football pitch, a play park and a hardcourt basketball and five-a-side football area. The Social Centre playing fields are home the Bromham FC football pitch along with a smaller pitch with is used by the youth team, there is also a pavilion which is used as a changing facility for both Home and Away teams as well as the officials. Just beside the car park of the Social Centre is another children’s play park which is looked over by the Millennium Cross, a tall stone cross erected in conjunction with the year 2000 and its symbolic nature with Christianity. Bromham has two main places of Christian worship; the main and most prominent is St. Nicholas’s Church situated right in the heart of the village. The other place of worship is the smaller Chapel which is positioned nearly at the top of the aptly named Church Hill. [1]

Football
Bromham Football Club was formed in 1897, with Harry Amor and Arthur Powney as co-founders.[2]
Bowls
There is a bowls club that meet every week at the Social Centre to play indoor bowls on special mats that transform the dancefloor into a bowls green. [1]
Tennis
At the Pound Playing field there is a Tennis Court which is available to hire, the court is looked after by Mrs Jones. There is also a regular slot which is reserved for members of the Tennis Club. [1]
