One of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen's earliest albums, Brother for Sale features singalong versions of oldies, quirky new songs, and skits. On songs like "Peanut Butter," "Desperate for a Dog," and the title track, the twins have untrained, unmannered singing voices that give the songs a fresh, playful feel. Sketches such as "Cattle Drive" and "Echo" and songs like "Identical Twins" reflect the whimsical lives the Olsen twins lead as child stars, while "Hugged by You," "I Can't Hear My Parents Call," and "Uh-Oh Accident" deal with more universal childhood experiences. Overall, Brother for Sale manages to be cute without becoming too treacly and features some surprisingly good songwriting. ~ Heather Phares, All Music Guide
